As if Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre calling it quits and retiring after a 17-season career wasn’t painful enough, fans on the UW Green Bay campus were surprised after reading a campus newspaper headline that said “Legendary Number 4 is Going to Come Back for Another Season.”
Some are saying it’s an April Fools joke gone too far.
Dan Whelan, the editor and chief of the paper, said the story is part of their annual April Fools edition, but many fans weren’t laughing.

It’s days before April Fools Day and Favre hasn’t officially filed his retirement papers.
