The community is coming together to help the victims of a house fire in Southwestern Wisconsin. It took the lives of three children and severly injured their mother.

But Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen says you need to make sure you're sending donations to the proper place.

Allen, Jeffrey and Joseph Wand were killed in the fire in Argyle September 7th. Their mother Sharon seriously burned in the fire. A daughter in the family, Jessica, survived. Armin and Jeremy Wand, the victims' father and uncle have been charged with starting the flames to collect insurance money.

In a statement released today the A.G. says "when tragedy occurs, well-meaning people want to help. Unfortunately, others know this and will sometimes try to exploit their generosity."

He says the best way to make sure the money is going to a place it will really help is to give the money to a fund set up at a bank.

The victims' aunt has set up a legitimate fund. If you'd like to help, the address is:

Wand Children Benefit Fund
c/o Talmer Bank and Trust

Monroe, WI 53566
