Wausau Mayor Jim Tipple says the county and the city's insurance company will help investigate a discrimination suit filed against the city.
Tipple also says he'll be the temporary head of the department in question until the issue is cleared up.
Former Public Housing Director Wendy Jasurda was fired following allegations she charged $1600 worth of personal items to the CDA's credit card.
She's since been charged with theft.
However, Jasurda alleges her former boss, Community Development Director Mike Morrissey, was allowed to explain and repay approximately $500 he mistakenly received from the CDA.
The prompted Jasurda to file a discrimination complaint with the state.
She says Morrissey got to explain the mistake with his credit card and pay it back - an opportunity she was never given.
Morrissey denies the discrimination allegation and even says Jasurda planted the accounting error that gave him the $500.
He's been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation of the discrimination complaint.
