Wausau Police say two of the four girls have been released to their parents after allegedly stealing a car, failing to pay for gasoline in Tomahawk and leading officers on a chase.
Police say the car was a 1996 Buick LaSaber that belonged to the mother of one of the girls and none of the girls had a drivers license.
Police say the girls, two 14 and two 15,filled up at about 7 a.m. Tuesday and headed towards Wausau.
The vehicle was then spotted by the Wisconsin State Patrol on Highway 51 near County Road K, where officials say the girls led police on a chase through a parking lot.
Tire deflation devices to stop the car were not successful.
Authorities say the girls eventually crashed in a parking lot off of Merrill Avenue in Wausau, then took off running.
They were then taken into custody by the Wausau Police Department.
