A local woman is incredibly thankful she's still alive tonight.
Jackie Denfeld of Rib Mountain says she was able to get out of her home and escape with her life after her house burst into flames shortly after three this morning.
Fire fighters say they were able to contain the burning flames in the home within a half an hour but they did return to the scene later in the morning.
Rib Moutain Fire Safety Officer John Kruger says, "We came back in about an hour and a half so we could check for any hot spots that might have developed."
No one was injured in the fire.
The house is considered a total loss, although fire safety officers were able to recover a metal box containing Denfeld's important documents.
Fire officials have not determined the cause of the fire and say a full report is expected to be released sometime tomorrow.
