Police throughout the Wausau area responded to several crashes after Saturday's snowfall. While police say they often tell people to slow down, drivers still seem to be underestimating the difference that snow can make.
"People think that they can drive like its summer," said Everest Metro Patrol Officer Jason Weiland, "but they gotta slow down. The snow is going to make you slide."
Weiland says when it comes to winter driving it's always a good idea to give yourself extra time. They say people should also remember to keep a safe distance from other cars, especially in bad weather.
