Jensen's Lawyer Seeks Dismissal of Charges
Charges filed against state Rep. Scott Jensen are unconstitutional and should be dismissed.
That's the argument by the lawmaker's attorney.
Attorney Stephen Meyer said the felony misconduct charges violate the separation of powers doctrine in the state and federal constitutions. He said that's because the alleged crimes are related to his official duties.
Meyer made that argument in papers he filed in Dane County court last week.
Jensen is charged with three felony counts of misconduct in office and a misdemeanor ethics violation.
