NewsChannel 7 Honored for Autism Coverage
NewsChannel 7 is being recognized for a story that promoted autism awareness.

Reporter Amanda Lutz is being honored by the national organization "Unlocking Autism." The group recognizes journalists' work for bringing autism into the limelight.
Last year, Amanda followed a Medford family's efforts to get in-home therapy for their autistic son.
Since it aired, a Green Bay-based company now offers the therapy in Taylor County. And the families who now receive the therapy say it's really made a difference.
"It really has helped us to find some type of help for our children, like Connor, to be able to function in society," says Laurie Keefe, whose seven-year-old son now receives the in-home therapy.
Autism now affects one in 166 children, and is one of the most common developmental disorders in children.
