Authorities are now releasing the name of a two year old boy who drowned in a pool up in Vilas County. He's identified as Colin Becker of Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
The incident happened in Land O'Lakes at a family vacation home Friday evening.
At approximately 6:25 pm, Vilas County 911 received an ambulance request at a residence on Thousand Island Lake Road for a young child that was discovered unresponsive.
Initial investigation determined that several children were playing unsupervised in the pool. One of the children noticed the unresponsive child. After the victim was removed from the pool, CPR was performed.
The victim was transported to Eagle River Memorial Hospital. However, life saving efforts were unsuccessful. The child was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Investigation into the death is on-going.
