Six UW Stevens Point students are looking for a place to live. This after the home they were renting on Main Street burned down. Not much inside the home can be salvaged.
The university is offering the six Natural Resources majors temporary housing on campus. The students' landlord says they are also welcome to stay with her.
"We'd want to treat our students the way we'd want our children and our family to be treated." Student Affairs Director Bob Tomlinson said.
"I love young people," said Rexzan Vargin owner of the house "and hospitality in a time of need, I think everyone should extend their help from the bottom of their hearts."
The university says it will replace any textbooks that were burned in the fire. It will also let students have meals in the campus dining halls.
