Authorities have released the names of two women who were killed in an early morning accident in Merrill. According to a press release Jessica Hartwig, 33, and Misty Glisch, 31, were killed when the car they were traveling in rolled over and drove into a field on Alexander Street.
The accident happened just after 3:30 this morning near the intersection of Alexander and Heldt Streets on the west side of the city.
A firefighter with the Merrill Fire Department says four women were involved in the crash. Three women were ejected from the vehicle when it rolled over. Hartwig and Glisch were ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Ashley Baumann, 24 and Jerrica Woller, 29 were also hurt and remain in serious in condition. One of the women was taken by air ambulance to a Wausau hospital. The other survivor was taken to a Merrill Hospital and then transported to a medical center in Wausau.
