HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- A packaging plant in Hendersonville will close next year, putting 115 people out of work.
Printpack said Thursday the plant will close in the second half of 2013.
The Atlanta company makes specialty packaging and plans to build a new plant in Rhinelander, Wis.
Printpack took over plants in Hendersonville and Rhinelander in 1989 when it bought Daniels Packaging.
President and CEO Dennis Love says the switch to Wisconsin is part of a strategy to provide competitively priced, high-quality materials using the latest technology.
Spokeswoman Lisa Preston says the company will try to find work for affected workers elsewhere in Printpack. Severance packages will be offered to those who lose their jobs.
