Students at Wausau East High School are learning about renewable energy.
More than two years ago, wind turbines were put in for the purpose of education. While there have been a few hiccups, the Science teacher says things have been going well and it's saving the school thousands of dollars each year.
"My hope is to actually motivate and engage students to learn about alternative resources and future trends and to have them look and to be critically, problem solvers," says Lauren Ebbecke, a Science teacher.
Students are also learning about renewable energy through solar panels.
