The clock is ticking for gubernatorial candidates to win over voters before the June 5th recall elections.
On Saturday, Governor Scott Walker made a stop in Wausau to speak with supporters. He addressed the hotly contested recall race as well as the debate he had Friday night with Milwaukee mayor Tom Barrett. He referred to Barrett's campaign as "desperate" and calls his plan one that "moves Wisconsin forward."
"We've laid our plan; our plan for not just what we've done in the past, but more importantly what we will do to move this state forward, to improve the quality of life, to get people working again," says Governor Walker.
Walker says the state has seen 30,000 new jobs sice he's taken office. But last night in a televised debate, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett says those numbers are false.
"I'm using the numbers that are used by every state, by the federal government, by the media, the bureau of labor statistics numbers... and those are the numbers that show that under Scott Walker this state lost more jobs than any other state in the country," says Barrett.
Barrett says creating jobs will be a top priority if elected.
The final debate between the candidates will be on Thursday in Milwaukee.
