Workers at Granite Peak in Rib Mountain are working day and night right now. They've been waiting for it to get cold enough to make snow. They say they're hoping to keep the momentum up until it is time to open. In just one minute, one of the ski hill's 30 large snow producers can turn 5,000 gallons of water into snow.

As the snow machines come out, customers start coming in. The ski hill has sold 2,500 season passes so far.

Workers at Granite Peak say they want to have at least 18 inches on the trails before they let skiers hit the slopes. If the weather stays cold, the ski hill may be open in time for Thanksgiving.
