Even as adults, change can be scary, but for young children, even little changes can seem like a big deal. That's why a new program at Mosinee elementary aims to ease the transition with a program called "looping."
Normally when kids at Mosinee elementary move up a grade, the school chooses their new teacher at random. Kids may be assigned to a new classroom; with a new teacher and students they've never met. Now, looping gives first graders the option to stay another year in their classroom and keep the same teacher and classmates.
Looping is not a requirement at the school. It is just another program option kids have to choose from.
