Governor Jim Doyle says he has a plan to help Wisconsin’s economy grow during a time when the national economy is facing challenges, but he says even with the help of his Grow Wisconsin plan, it’s going to take some work.
"In a time when the national economy is having so much trouble, we cannot just crawl under a rock or go into a bed and pull the cover up over our head and hope that is all somehow going to pass," Doyle said.
Friday at PDM Solar in Wausau Governor Doyle said the state’s economy can improve as long as Wisconsin makes a commitment to small businesses focusing on renewable energy research and development.
The governor said the next step in creating more small businesses like PDM will include offering rewards in the form of tax credits and breaks for small businesses invested in finding new ways to create and use renewable energy.
