A Wausau man faces charges for his 6th OWI and obstructing officers after a hit-and-run with a squad car.
Police say 37-year-old Brandon Ingram was driving while intoxicated when he hit and severely damaged an on-duty officer's vehicle on 3rd Ave.
Ingram then pulled over, but while the responding officer was checking the involved officer for injuries, Ingram fled the scene on foot.
"Today we were contacted by a representative for the operator who notified us that he was going to be coming to the police department to turn himself in, which he did," Lt. Matthew Barnes with the Wausau PD said. "And he was susequently arrested for 6th offense OWI and obstructing an officer."
Ingram is being held at the Marathon County Jail.
The officer in the damage vehicle suffered minor injuries.
