Quality Beef Processors hopes to bring a meat processing plant to Wisconsin Rapids, and that could create up to 400 new jobs, but some residents have concerns about the idea.
One of the biggest concerns is the smell, but that issue is one that city leaders say should not foul up the project because they are taking extra steps to minimize the odor.
The mayor of Wisconsin Rapids, Jerry Bach, says the plant will smell no worse than the average farm.
A community meeting is being held on Nov. 6, 2002 at the Mead Hotel at 7p.m. for people who would like to know more about the plant.
