WI Bar Locks Up Liquor, Opens Doors to Teen for New Year's

BELGIUM, Wis. (AP) -- A Belgium bar is doing its part to keep teens from drinking this New Year's Eve.
Bic's Place will not serve liquor on Monday night. Instead, it will open its doors to people age 14 and older for a party that includes indoor volleyball, darts, pool and a Wii game.
Bar owner Claire Bichler says she came up with the idea last year to celebrate her daughter's 16th birthday. That party drew more than 50 young people.
Bichler says she's had no complaints from parents -- they like the idea of knowing where their children are and they know she's strict.
The village board has approved the party both years. Village President Donald Schommer says the alcohol-free party is well-organized and something more communities should do for their teens.
