Portage County Sheriff's deputies say two people in stocking caps, with bandanas over their faces went into a Citgo gas station on Junction City's Main Street just before midnight Saturday night.
Deputies say one of them was carrying a semi-automatic weapon. One man ordered the 21-year-old woman behind the counter to put all the money from the cash register into a pillow case. They got the money and then fled.
"They think they ran right through the backyard, and escaped through the back," says John Hoppe, who lives right next to the gas station. "We have three kids, and it does make you wonder living so close to a store. It's kind of scary."
