Teachers Volunteering Again

A contract settlement for the Wausau School District and its teachers is also a big relief for parents and students because it means after school activities will be back in full swing.

During the deadlock, the teachers worked only to contract meaning many teachers stopped volunteering at athletic events or advising clubs at school.

With a contract agreement, students and the staff at Wausau West High School are excited to have things back to normal.

"I'm real excited to be back doing all of the athletic events," said Paul Linzmeyer, a teacher at Wausau West.

"It means a lot to know they are there on their free time, shows that they care," said Victoria Jackson, a junior member of the Interact Club.

"There's so much going on that if we only saw them for the forty minutes they were in our class, we would never get to know really who that person was, and what they are doing and how we can help them," said Sara Suprak, a teacher and club advisor at Wausau West.
