Foam Disinfectant at Local Hospitals

Many of the nurses at Wausau Hospital aren't washing their hands with soap and water in between seeing patients. That's because those nurses are using disinfectant foam instead.

The foam is an alcohol based, quick drying hand sanitizer that does the same thing in 15 seconds without water or paper towel that soap does in a minute. And that convenience is the main reason why the foam is so popular.

Nurses and doctors need to wash their hands after seeing a patient to prevent cross-contaminating sick people with germs and bacteria. But many times they are too busy and short on time to wash their hands properly.

The foam is quick and convenient enough that nurses can find the 15 extra seconds to keep their patients healthy.
