Governor Pushes ATV Tourism

Gov. Scott McCallum and Secretary of Tourism Richard Speros are presenting ATV use as an economic boost for the Northwoods.

The governor presented a check for $23,000 to members of the Tomahawk Chamber of Commerce. The check is a marketing grant that Lincoln County will use to promote the use of its forests and trails-especially ATV use.

There are more than 160,000 registered ATV's in Wisconsin, and the sport is catching up to snowmobiling in popularity.

By increasing the number of people coming to Lincoln and surrounding counties with ATV's, the state is growing a large section of the economy.
