Teacher Protests

Teachers in Wausau have been working without a contract for 16 months because they haven't come to an agreement with the school district on pay and benefits.

For some other teachers in the area, that battle has lasted nearly a decade.

Teachers in Spencer say that they are not getting the pay they deserve.

The president of the Spencer Education Association, Edie Smazal, said they strongly believe that teachers need a competitive salary to maintain a quality education for students.

Teachers in Loyal and Mosinee also say they are fighting the same battle.

Teachers in Mosinee say their frustrations with contract negotiations have been going on for nine years and they want to be able to finally come to an agreement with the school district.
