Portage County detectives say they are in a hurry up and wait situation as the investigation into the death of a UW-Stevens Point student almost two decades ago continues.

The body of 20-year-old Janet Raasch was exhumed last week. The Sheriff said new information combined with new technology to test DNA might lead to solving the case.

Raasch was reported missing in October of 1984. Hunters found her remains a month later.

The Sheriff said they are waiting for results from tests at the State Crime Lab in Madison.
