Art students in Stevens Point are making ceramic bowls. It is part of a hunger fundraiser and a symbolic reminder that someone's bowl or plate is often empty.
Students in the advanced ceramics class at Stevens Point Area Senior High School made more than 100 bowls. They are donating the art to a hunger drive called, Empty Bowls.
Families who attend the special fundraising lunch next month will get to choose a bowl in exchange for a donation that will help feed the less fortunate.
"It was using our talents to show that we care," said Emily Chriske, a ceramics class student.
Empty Bowls will take place Oct. 12 at S.P.A.S.H. For more information call 715-345-5350.
