There were more accusations Friday on the campaign trail for governor.
Republican Scott McCallum is accusing Democrat Jim Doyle of planning to raise sales taxes by lifting exemptions.
McCallum's campaign cites a comment made by Democrat lieutenant governor candidate Barbara Lawton earlier this week in Fond du Lac. She says the state should review tax exemptions as a means to raise revenue.
But Doyle says he won't lift any of the state's sales tax exemptions to balance the budget. The state is facing a two-point-eight billion-dollar budget deficit.
Doyle's campaign director Bill Christofferson also says Lawton is not running for governor, Doyle is.
McCallum campaign manager Darrin Schmitz says Doyle has flipped on the issue because he has said in the past that he would consider reviewing the tax code -- including the exemptions.
