The Rhinelander Police Department is asking business and people in the area to be on the lookout for counterfeit $20 bills.
As of August 27, the department said 11 of the counterfeit were reported.
The bills all have the serial number of JE94914377B or EL05468236G.
As a preventative measure, when receiving currency, there are several security features you can review. The police department said to make sure money has a security strip embedded along the left side of the President, a watermark of the President on the right edge, and color changing ink on the number 20 in the lower right corner of the bill. All of these security features are visible when held to the light.
If you have any information about this case, contact the Rhinelander Police Department at (715) 365-5300.
