Teacher's Association Won't Negotiate Through Media

A day after the Wausau School District made public their latest contract offer, the Teachers Association said they have no comment on why they turned it down, except to say it was voted down by teachers 704-0.

Union President Allen Betry said teacher protests like picketing and work slowdowns are signs of frustration and not negotiating tactics.

But the School District said these actions have raised concerns among parents and the district wants to let them know where the negotiations are.

Both sides said they want to get back to working on a contract that will work for both sides.
