As many as 11 people could be charged with trying to fraudulently get relief money intended for tornado victims in Ladysmith.
A Fall River man, Norman Jenness, is charged with theft for giving a false address and obtaining $300 in relief money. Rusk County authorities expect ten more people will be charged for receiving aid not intended for them.
District Attorney Kathy Pakes says it's, "such a low thing to do."
Last week $35,000 in emergency aid was given to people who lost their homes in the Labor Day tornado.
About 120 aid checks were given. Another 51 requests were denied because there wasn't enough aid money.
Pakes says there were those who needed the money but couldn't get it because of those who committed fraud.
