MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- President Barack Obama hopes to improve the fortunes of suddenly imperiled Wisconsin Democrats with his third visit to the state in a little over two months.

Obama is returning to speak at the same Labor Day rally in Milwaukee on Monday where an enthusiastic crowd greeted him two years ago toward the end of his campaign. He went on to carry Wisconsin by a 14-point margin.

But since then his approval ratings have dropped. Democrats facing tough election bids are happy for any boost he can deliver. U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold is in a tough re-election bid against a Republican newcomer and Democrats are trying to hold on to the governor's office.

Obama was in Milwaukee three weeks ago to raise money for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Tom Barrett.

Feingold listens and votes my positions and that is who I am supporting this November. We don't care about the republican candidate as that is NOT who Obama is here to support.

What's he going to say? I am here to "hear you" and not listen? Then he would be honest about it. Same goes for that "Maverick" Feingold too. I don't know how someone can have campain ads that says he is for us, when he votes for stuff that 70% doesn't want. Johnson is going to beat Feingold like he owes him money. The dems are going to find out what happens when you don't listen to the people that put you in office just like the Republicans did in the last few elections.

Why is the Republican Canidate(s) who is running against Feingold not named in this story? Isn't that the "WHO?" part in reporting?
