ELKHORN, Wis. (AP) -- An East Troy man is accused of driving drunk and causing a crash that killed a 6-year-old boy and critically injured an adult in southern Wisconsin.
Walworth County sheriff's officials say the boy, Treyton Kilar of Whitewater, was a passenger in an SUV that was hit by a Chevy Suburban Thursday night in the Town of Troy. Investigators say the driver of the Suburban was drinking before he ran a stop sign and crashed into the SUV.
The 44-year-old SUV driver suffered critical injuries and was taken to Waukesha Memorial Hospital. Deputies say two other female passengers in the SUV, ages five and 15, weren't injured.
The driver arrested is also suspected of a hit and run crash that caused injuries in the Town of Lafayette minutes before the fatal accident.
