Superior might become the second Wisconsin city to ban synthetic marijuana.
The ban will be considered Tuesday night by the city council. The product is known as “K-2,” and it’s a mix of herbs and a formulated compound. A chemist from Clemson University developed it 15 years ago.
Superior’s neighboring city of Duluth Minnesota recently banned K-2.
In article for the Pierce County Herald, Bill Block of the state Justice Department states enforcement can be a problem. Block says K-2 is not officially a controlled substance, so the state crime labs cannot analyze it unless it’s tied to a felony crime.
Eau Claire is the only Wisconsin city with a ban on synthetic marijuana.
Block says there’s talk of a legislative bill next year to ban the product statewide.

hey Ellen - more child molesters use alcohol than they use dope. If you and Nicholas knew ANYTHING about marijuana, you would realize that it is MUCH safer than alcohol, nearly all pharmaceutical medications, and even caffeine. Yes, caffeine is more dangerous than marijuana.
Nick, you are so correct. I as a mother could not agree more. These others don't think child molesters use dope.
Get real nick, child molesters don't even go to prison. Prohibition did't work either. Legalizing it in small amounts for personal use is the only answer. There would be no money value to it and would stop large scale criminal grow operations like the ones found on our state lands. My grandpa made moonshine, the stuff is still out in the woods hidden. None of our family ever thought of him as a criminal. People don't like to be told what they can or can't do. We have guns and always will. It's the only thing keeping us free from our government and other countries.
