A dollar can't buy much these days, but it could be all that a Madison company pays for the old Wausau East High School building.
Stonehouse Incorporated has made that $1 offer, while MetroPlains Inc. of Saint Paul, MN has offered $5,000.
They'll explain their proposals further Tuesday night during a listening session with the school board and a local task force.
The task force includes teachers and people living nearby.
District superintendent Charles Skurka says they expected low offers, because the building could end up costing millions after repair and maintenance costs.
A final decision won't be made until at least October.
