A group of disabled veterans biking across the state is stopping in Central Wisconsin Wednesday.
The group "Wounded Warriors" is riding their bikes from the Twin Cities to Milwaukee over the next week. The ride is part of the Ride 2 Recovery program, which sponsors a series of rides across the country to benefit vets.
Many of the veterans suffer from PTSD, and traumatic brain disorders, while others are amputees who ride bikes that are modified to suit their injuries. Because many of the riders are disabled, they say biking across the state sends a powerful message.
Juan Carlos Hernandez said, "It shows people that if you keep on going and do everything you want to do, that there's no stopping as long as you have the will to do it."
The Wounded Warriors will be honored in Green Bay at Thursday's Packers game.
