CRANDON, Wis. (AP) -- A Sheboygan County sheriff's deputy is shot with his own handgun while off-duty in Forest County.
Sheboygan County Sheriff Mike Helmke says Deputy Anthony Blodgett was shot with his personal weapon that he's authorized to carry off duty. Blodgett was shot by another person on Aug. 7. Helmke wouldn't provide any more details.
The deputy has been employed by Sheboygan County for more than two years. Helmke tells the Sheboygan Press that Blodgett is at home recovering from his injuries.
