A 27-year-old Rhinelander man is behind bars on a $10,000 cash bond after investigators say he caused an accident that seriously injured a 28-year-old woman.

Investigators say Louis Stone was driving an SUV as a woman stood on the vehicle's running boards. Deputies say evidence at the scene indicates the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed in reverse when it rolled on its side. The woman was pinned underneath. The woman was flown to a Marshfield hospital.

The incident happened on Darr Street in the Town of Pelican around 5:40 a.m. Saturday, August 9.

Stone is charged with possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia, and reckless driving causing great bodily harm.
