1 Killed Following Clark Co. Accident

The Clark County Sheriff's Department has released the name of a man who died during a traffic accident early Wednesday morning.

Deputies says Shannon Melvin, 39, of Neillsville lost control of his on South Mound Road west of County Highway G, entered the ditched and rolled over several times.

His passenger, Ana B. Hannon-Abraira, 36, also of Neillsville, was severely injured.

The Clark County Sheriff's Department said one person has died and another was seriously injured following early Wednesday morning north of Neillsville.

According to a press release, dispatch received a call around 1 a.m. For the report of a car driving through yard near Grand Avenue and South Mound Road in the Township of Pine Valley.

A deputy was able to locate the vehicle and attempted to pull it over. That's when the vehicle drove through a stop sign on South Mound Road west of County Highway G, entered the ditched and rolled over several times.

Authorities say the male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Victim's name will not be released until family has been notified.

This is the eighth fatality for 2013 in Clark County.
