Breast cancer is the second deadliest form of cancer in America.
Doctors say breast cancer can affect anyone, most cases are not genetic but sporadic, which means they happen by chance.
Tennis star player Martina Navratilova, who says she's in peak health, announced today she was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 53.
Navratilova says it's been four years since her last mammogram.
Doctor Pam Galloway, director of Breast Center of Central Wisconsin says, "Women's chances at getting breast cancer increase with increasing age."
Doctor Galloway says it's important to have one done each year, they can be life saving and only take a few minutes to do.
