This month we're also focusing on how to live well.
The "Great American Get Active And Eat Right Challenge" encourages people to live a healthy life to help prevent cancer.
According to the American Cancer Society, regular physical exercise and eating nutrient-rich foods significantly lowers your risk of getting cancer.
But to prevent death, it's also important to undergo regular screenings.
"We suggest that people have regular screenings by a health care professional to help find cancer early when it's easier to treat," says Kristin Somers with the American Cancer Society.
She also recommends you avoid using tobacco and maintain a healthy weight to lower your risk.
