Today is the seventh of October, and time for our monthly Health Check 7 report.
It's part of our commitment to fight the battle against cancer in Northcentral Wisconsin.
According to The American Cancer Society, about 40,000 breast Cancer patients will die from the disease, this year alone.
The Society says this Breast Cancer Awareness Month, they're trying to help as many patients as they can get the help they need.
"Usually newly diagnosed patients have a lot of questions. The American Cancer Society provides a national information hotline where those patients can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week," says Melanie Schumann the Community Relations Director.
The hotline connects patients with trained information specialists.
You're able to receive advice on anything from handling health insurance, to questions about cancer treatment options.
For more information call (800) 539-7202.
