MADISON, Wis. (AP) _ The public will get a chance this week to comment on a proposal to increase fees on everything from operating a tattoo parlor to running a religious camp in Wisconsin.
The higher fees are being proposed to plug a $2.5 million hole in the state Department of Health Services budget.
The fees are levied against restaurants, tattoo and body piercing parlors, campgrounds, hotels, motels and bed and breakfasts, and food vending machine operators.
They pay for state inspections and other licensing requirements.
The public will get a chance to comment on Monday in Eau Claire and Tuesday in Rhinelander. Additional hearings are planned in Green Bay, Milwaukee and Madison.
