MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The state Department of Health and Family Services says at least three Wisconsin residents have been sickened in a multistate salmonella outbreak believed to be linked to tainted cantaloupe.
Stephanie Ward, a spokeswoman for the agency, says two of the adults are in Outagamie County and one lives in Marathon County.
She says none was hospitalized.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued an alert during the weekend saying people should throw away cantaloupes from a Honduran firm, Agropecuaria Montelibano. It said 50 people had become sick in 16 states and nine in Canada after eating the cantaloupes.
