MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Haunted hayrides, night hikes, ghost stories around the campfire -- Wisconsin's state parks will have something for Halloween lovers of all ages this weekend.
The Department of Natural Resources has planned a plethora of Halloween-themed galas at facilities around the state.
The Lapham Peak Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest near Delafield, for example, will offer a family-friendly "fright hike" and a bonfire Friday and Saturday evenings.
Devil's Lake State Park near Baraboo, meanwhile, will offer a torch-lit hike along the lake followed by a campfire and a presentation about bats Saturday evening. And Kinnickinnic State Park near River Falls will offer pumpkin painting, a scavenger hunt, a costume contest, a bonfire and ghost stories on Saturday afternoon.
