MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Don't expect the political ads to go away in the final week of the race for Wisconsin governor.
Democratic incumbent Governor Jim Doyle and Republican challenger Mark Green each unveiled a new campaign ad yesterday, and the candidates are expected to pump all the money they can into the ad blitz over coming days.
An Associated Press review of ad buys in the state's two largest markets, Milwaukee and the Green Bay-Appleton area, shows Doyle has reserved about $475,000 worth of time through Election Day.
Green has reserved just under $300,000 worth.
But Green spokesman Mike Prentiss says the campaign has significantly increased its ad buys in those two markets since the figure was tabulated.
The latest poll indicates Doyle has a lead of 14 percentage points over Green, although the Green campaign is saying that poll isn't reliable.
