Wausau Police say they now know the name of the man accused of robbing a Kwik Trip Convenience store on the city's North-East side.

According to Lt. Michael Juedes, the suspect is 36 year old Jeffery S. Deuel of Medford.

The incident happened Monday night just before 12 A.M. at the Kwik Trip on 6th Street.

Police Chief Jeff Hardel says the suspect got away with cash, cigarettes and beer.

Hardel also says the suspect did not appear to have a weapon.

Deuel made his initial appearance in Marathon County Court on Thursday. Prosecutors say because he did not threaten or use force against the Kwik Trip clerk, they are charging him with "Theft of Movable Property."

According to the criminal complaint Deuel said to the clerk "Sorry to hurt your feelings, this is a robbery. Give me what you got."

Assistant District Attorney LaMont Jacobson says he has also added an enhancer to the charge. That means if convicted he could serve more time because he's a repeat offender.

If convicted Deuel faces 6 years for the theft and 4 years for the enhancer for a total of 10 years. Deuel will be back in court for a Preliminary Hearing on May 14th.
