Shawn M. Garinger, age 52, of Weston died Monday, August 18, 2014 at his home in Weston.

Shawn was born on December 10, 1961 in Tampa, Florida to William and Jo Ellen (Rotell) Garinger. He married Sara Bade on September 23, 2000 in Wausau, Wisconsin.

He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp and later went on to own and operate his own trucking Company, Garinger Transport. Shawn went back to school and earned his bachelor’s degree in Social Services in 2008. He loved camping, cooking, pig roasts, fishing, and boy scouts.

Shawn is survived by his wife Sara Garinger of Weston; son Mitchell Henke of Wisconsin Rapids; mother Jo Ellen Weber of Wausau; sisters Darcia Garinger of Wausau and Carrie (Rex Bergs) Garinger of Edgar; father-in-law and mother-in-law Harvey and Ardell Bade of Athens; brother-in-law Jason (Jackie) Bade of Athens; sister-in-law Patti (Shane) Brzezinski of Wausau; nieces and nephews Amanda (Seth) Bessette, Tiffany (Zach) Harris, Chelsea Garinger, Brett Erickson, Elsie Brzezinski, and Alex Brzezinski; and several great nieces and nephews.

Shawn is preceded in death by his father William Garinger, stepfather Wayne Weber, and special father Gerald Kaler.

Memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 7:00 pm at Brainard Funeral Home, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston. Rev. Wes Jedras will officiate. Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Thursday.
