Joanne P. Schrank, 73, Wittenberg, died on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born on October 2, 1940, the daughter of the late Milton and Lillian (Raaen) Foth. On October 29, 1961, Joanne was united in marriage to Roger Schrank in Broadhead, WI. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2009.
Joanne, Roger and their two children spent 10 years in Ripon, WI where Joanne was employed as a bank teller.
In 1972, the family moved to Wittenberg to take over the family dairy farm from Joanne's father, Milton Foth. Roger and Joanne ran the family farm until 1994 when it was sold. While on the farm Joanne loved her animals and each one was named. Joanne then worked as a cashier at North Star Casino until her retirement in 2012. She worked as a poll worker for the town of Birnamwood for many years. Joanne loved to cook and enjoyed fishing trips to Crooked Lake, MN, bowling, and socializing with others. Important to Joanne was the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren who meant the world to her.
Survivors include a son, Tom (Stacey) Schrank, Wittenberg; two grandchildren, Danny and Jennifer Schrank; two sisters, Charlotte Foth, Menasha and Rose Klawitter, Wittenberg; special friend, Larry Kerstner, Wittenberg and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a daughter, Dawn.
The funeral service will be held at 12NOON on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. Rev. Amy Meyer will officiate. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9AM until time of service at the funeral home. The family guestbook and condolences are available at schmidtschulta.com
