Adena “Pat” Slagoski, age 77, of Weston died Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Garden Side Crossing at North Central Health Care Center, Wausau after a battle with Alzheimer’s Disease and lung cancer.

Pat was born on June 7, 1936 in Medford to the late Clarence and Dorothy (Hadenfeldt) Brecke. She grew up as a farm girl in Stetsonville and would later marry Larry Slagoski. They were married for 46 years.

Pat held her cosmetology license for 50 years. She owned and operated Pat’s Beauty Salon in Schofield for many years. She also worked for Marathon Electric. She loved to ride her bicycle and had many friends. Reading a good book surrounded by her dogs “Up North” was a favorite past time. She also enjoyed having lunch with the ladies where she would usually have a tuna salad on whole wheat with a diet Pepsi.

Pat is survived by her husband Larry Slagoski of Weston; children Dale (Teresa) Mader of Louisville, KY, Linda Draeger of Weston, and David (Kit) Mader of Kenosha; step children Wayne (Cindy) Slagoski of Weston and Laverianne (John) Senski of Mosinee; grandchildren Cameron, Kelci, Paje, Josh, Alex, and Jason; and great grandson Jonathon.

She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Dorothy Brecke, son-in-law Major Rhory Draeger, and granddaughter-in-law Andria Slagoski.

Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm at St. Agnes Catholic Parish, 6101 Zinser St., Weston. The Rev. Greg Bohren will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the time of service at the church on Saturday.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Garden Side Crossing at North Central Health Care Center for their kindness and compassion, especially her caretaker Floyd.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to Garden Side Crossing, 1100 Lake View Dr., Wausau, WI 54403
